We started our firm in 2003 and we are a new entry into the photo and film
transfer business. But we are not new to archiving images and documents. We
have long been interested in scanning and preserving old family photos and
letters, some of which date from the mid-1800s. In fact, that is a large part
of what sparked our interest in all of this: finding a way to scan and preserve
old photographs, slides and letters. We then realized that all of our 8mm films
needed to be preserved or they, too, would be lost forever. These items may
last awhile, perhaps many years; but each passing year takes its toll. And
this is before considering the convenience of being able to share DVDs and
video tapes with family members anywhere, instead of hauling out the boxes of
photo albums or the ancient and no longer dependable projection equipment for a
limited (and often unpredictable) viewing. But of primary importance is the
preservation of these memories and moments from the past that will never
come again. It was this interest and these efforts that played a significant
part in the formation of Images on Disk
.
Our specialty is the transfer of photographs and slides to DVD or VHS. The
transferring of photographs and slides to a video format has become very
popular in recent years. A montage of special family photos set to music is a
very unique gift that will become a treasured heirloom. At Images on Disk, we
refer to these montages as 'Digital Photo Albums'. In addition to photos and
slides, we can also transfer newspaper clippings, diplomas, military papers,
logos, etc., to your video montage.
Video montages are often produced for:
-
special occasions such as weddings, anniversaries, retirements, graduations and birthdays
-
tributes honoring the life of a deceased loved one
-
church, school, civic and business events, trade shows, exhibits, etc.
Our other primary service is the transfer of 8mm and Super8 home movies to DVD
or VHS. We want to provide you with a top quality transfer of your films to a
digital format. Once in digital format, and if properly cared for, the images
can be maintained for as long as you and those who follow wish to maintain
them. Whether the movies are from the 1930s, the 1950s, the 1970s, or just
last year, let us help you capture those images in a format that will endure
and can be shared so readily with others.
We hope it will be clear as you review our site that we are not a "transfer
mill" that cranks out thousands of photos a day without ever taking a close
look at the treasured images rolling through the process. Our mission is to
take our time, and to do the best job we can do to preserve family moments and
memories for the enjoyment of generations to come. Please take some time and
look around our website to see what we do at Images on Disk. It is our sincere
hope that we can be of assistance to you.
